The Permanent Committee for Streamlining Business Environment in Kuwait holds a meeting

The Permanent Committee for Streamlining Business Environment in the State of Kuwait (PCK) held a meeting in the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) premises on November 8, 2016. The Chairman of the PCK, KDIPA’s Director General Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah opened the meeting welcoming the members particularly the two new members from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning & Development (SCDP) and the Public Authority for Manpower, who recently joined other seven members representing Ministries of Commerce & Industry, Justice, Electricity & Water, Finance, the Central Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Municipality, and the General Directorate for Customs.

The chairman Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Sabah provided an overview of the PCK’s implementations in the last period performed in accordance with its tasks. In addition, an analytical presentation was given on Kuwait’s position in the Ease of Doing Business Report 2017.

As per the joint agreement signed between KDIPA and The World Bank last March, the technical support team of The World Bank shared insights on the recommended priority reforms for streamlining doing business in Kuwait with the PCK.

The meeting concluded with members approving the draft national reform agenda to be duly submitted to the Council of Ministers, as well as discussing the upcoming steps to be implemented till the end of second quarter 2017.
