KDIPA participates in the second session of the Joint Kuwaiti-Sudanese High Level Ministerial Committee

11 February, 2015: Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) participated in the second session of the Joint Kuwaiti-Sudanese High Level Ministerial Committee held in Kuwait on February 10, 2015. The Kuwaiti delegation was headed by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Sudanese delegation headed by H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The meeting tackled means to foster cooperation between the two countries founded on their strong bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of investment, scientific research, education, agriculture and livestock, and culture, focusing on enhancing the role of the private sector in the sizable joint development and investment projects. KDIPA delegation discussed issues related to investment, whereby the Sudanese delegation proposed to organize a bi-annual investment forum, and a draft executive program for cooperation between the National Investment Authority in Sudan and KDIPA. Both sides also exchanged recent legislations related to investment.
The first session of the Joint Kuwaiti-Sudanese High Level Ministerial Committee was held in Khartoum on 8-11 December, 2010 in the aftermath of the East Sudan Donors & Investors Forum organized by and hosted in Kuwait on 1-2 December 2010. The two parties have by now signed a total of 25 memorandum of understandings and agreements.
