Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) has participated as part of the Kuwaiti delegation headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the third meeting of the Kuwait-UK Joint Steering Group held in London during November 27-28, 2013. The participants were divided into various sub-groups tackling areas of mutual interest including healthcare, higher education, energy, defense & security, trade & investment, in which KDIPA representative took part, whereby he provided an overview of the new direct investment Law No 116 for 2013, and expected positive improvements it will entail once it enter into force, particularly in reducing investment licenses’ processing time through the establishment of a one stop shop. The Group concluded the deliberations signing an action plan that will cover the upcoming 6 months till the fourth meeting will be held by end of the second quarter of 2014. The Kuwait-UK Steering Group was established after the state visit of HH Emir of Kuwait to UK in November 2012, to culminate the significance of the historical and strategic relations between both countries, to foster joint cooperation, and address any barriers.
