KDIPA hosted a workshop to determine the ease of doing business reform proposals

Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) hosted a technical workshop with the technical support of the Doing Business Team from World Bank Group, on 23 –25 October 2016 at KDIPA’s offices in Al Hamra Tower, for the focal teams of the members of the Permanent Committee for Streamlining Business Environment in the State of Kuwait (PCK), as well teams from outside the Committee, represented by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Authority for Industry.

Mrs. Reem M. Al-Banwa, Director of Planning & Competitiveness Department, and the Rapporteur of PCK underlined that the purpose of convening this workshop was to articulate the proposed reform priorities for streamlining business environment in Kuwait. In this regard, this workshop tackled procedures and reform suggestions relating to five components out of the ten that comprise the doing business report namely: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, trading cross borders, and resolving insolvency.  The workshop concluded with identified priorities for both the short- and medium-terms, to be submitted for approval and implementation thereon as the national agenda for reform.
