Permanent Committee for Streamlining Business Environment & Enhancing Competitiveness Holds a Meeting

The Permanent Committee for Streamlining Business Environment and Enhancing Competitiveness in the State of Kuwait (PCK) held a meeting on November 21, 2018, in the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) premise. The meeting was attended by members from Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the Central Bank of Kuwait, the General Directorate for Customs, Capital Market Authority (CMA), and Kuwait National Competitiveness Committee (KNCC).

The Chairman of the PCK, KDIPA’s Director General Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah opened the meeting commending national efforts that contributed to maintain the steadfast improvement in Kuwait’s position in the Ease of Doing Business Index 2019 of the World Bank Group (WBG). He stressed the need for continuous efforts and coordination amongst all concerned parties to achieve intended reforms.

The meeting agenda included presenting an analytical overview on Kuwait’s position in the Ease of Doing Business Index 2019 (EODB2019). Followed by an overview by the World Bank technical support team on the draft Phase II of the National Agenda for Streamlining Business Environment in Kuwait (Tahseen Program), jointly developed with full engagement by the EODB component work groups for final approval to present to Council of Ministers before year end.

The meeting concluded going over the upcoming steps to be implemented.
